It’s Time Again! … for the
Annual YMBL South Texas State Fair!

March 21 through March 31

Southeast Texans patiently(?) anticipate to be entertained with the super-sized midway, livestock show & auction, along with  a commercial exhibition. We know you are always ready to feast on the delicacies!  You’ll find all sorts of foods -barbecue, Tex-Mex, Cajun, and sweets you only indulge once a year – at the South Texas State Fair!   There’s also a photo contest, quilt contest, and many local school have art exhibits on show.

2013 Special Nights, Gate Price and Rides

  • Sunday March 24-  Opens  at 12 noon. Advantage Plus Homecare Sr Citizens Day $4.00(Kids entry) – $8.00 (adult entry) 
  • Monday, March 25 – Opens at 5p – HEB $1 Night
    *Select HEB stores give customers a coupon good for one dollar entry gate admission and one dollar per ride rides. Fair patrons without a coupon pay regular prices. Please note: $1.00 coupons are only available at select HEB stores and are only valid on Monday, March 25, 2013.
  • Tuesday, March 26 -  Opens at 5p - Conn’s Ladies Night
    *     Females with a coupon from Conn’s receive FREE admission at the gate & $1.00 carnival rides all evening. Females without a coupon pay regular prices.
  • Wednesday, March 27 - Opens at 5p  - Unlimited Ride Wrist Bands -
    *Sonic Buddy Night.  Select area Sonic Drive-Ins give customers a coupon good for two-for-one gate admission to the Fair. Fair patrons with this coupon are eligible to purchase a carnival ride wristband for $15.00. (Fair patrons may purchase carnival wristbands for $20.00 without the coupon.) This wristband permits Fair patrons to ride the carnival rides on an unlimited basis all night. Fair patrons without coupon pay regular entry price and regular wristband or individual ride prices
  • Thursday, March 28 - Opens at 5p - Lights the Night at the Fair $4.00(Kids entry) – $8.00 (adult entry)
    *      On this special night when the gates open, Entergy will be giving away 500 Weatherization Kits from their booth Q-05 & 06 located in the Ford Exhibit Hall
  • Friday, March 29 - Opens at 12 Noon Good Friday Holiday $4.00(Kids entry) – $8.00 (adult entry)
    *    All tickets purchased at full price are good for any day of the 2013 South Texas State Fair.
  • Saturday, March 30 - Opens at 10a - Kid’s Day Saturday $4.00(Kids entry) – $8.00 (adult entry)
    *     Youth ages 17 and under will be admitted FREE at the gate from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. After 3:00 p.m., kids will be charged the regular ticket price of $4.00. Please note this offer is only available at the gate and valid only March 30, 2013. Ride Prices on the Carnival Americana Midway will be $1.00 for all rides for Kids from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. After 3:00 p.m. regular prices apply.
  • Sunday, March 31 - Opens at 12 noon - Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Cantastic Sunday $4.00 (Kids entry) – $8.00 (adult entry)
     *Sunday, March 31st – Unlimited Ride Wrist Bands -
    *      Southeast Texas Fair goers are admitted FREE, if they bring an empty “six pack” of COCA-COLA/DR. PEPPER product cans. Patrons with these product cans are eligible to purchase a wristband for $20.00. This wristband permits them to ride the carnival rides on an unlimited basis. (Patrons may purchase carnival wristbands for $25.00 without the cans.) Fair visitors without cans pay regular entry price and regular wristband or individual ride prices. Please note this offer is only available at the gate and valid only March 31, 2013 with the appropriate Coca Cola products. If you do not have the appropriate items, you will be charged the price of regular admission.

  • Senior Citizens (65+) $4
  • Kids 10 & under (no charge)

    I love the fair but its about people making money so expensive half the people cant afford to go. Wish the prices would go down.

    I agree with Peggy. The prices are absurd. You have 2 kids and thats $50 already w/ the wristbands. I want my kids to enjoy themselves and have a taste of a little bit of everything. Im a single mother, and this is my struggle. Please take into consideration about the prices. Not all of have an abundance of money.

    I agree with Peggy about the ride prices…think about the single parents…the wrist bands seem to be on nights most can not attend…such as Sunday church goers and Thursday the kids have to go to school and parents go to work!

    I was raise at the South Texas State Fair because my Parent’s ran the Republican Booth. When it was in Oct that was the best time because when you are dating you can snuggle up to your Boyfriend.

    Please consider all the kids out there that want to go to the fair and have a good time,but there parents cain’t afford the high prices to ride the rides,please consider bringing the prices down on weekends for these kids so they can go to the fair, by the time you pay for parking and pay to get into the fair you have already spent a lot of money,and I would like to see a lot of kids get to go to the fair this year,so please consider this.

    You all come by the Mimi’s Food Hut trailer for an amazing Cuban sandwich topped with fried plantains and pair it all up with one of our flavored teas, Mango and Raspberry seems to be the favored ones but Cheesecake and Cupcake..OMG

    The state fair is great. It gets even better every year. My children love all the games and prizes we can’t wait until March 21 so we can go again. We hope u keep it up!:-)
